Of recent years, the month of November has become notoriously re-labelled as Movember.  The hijacking of the 11th month is both happily received and lovingly promoted as it shines the spotlight on a very pertinent and serious issue in a carefree and enlightening manner.

The issue at hand – Prostrate and Testicular Cancer.

The task – Growing a moustache for 30 days to raise awareness and funds to help find a cure.

The participants – Men around the globe (and maybe some women?)

Movember is all about having some fun for a very serious cause and the best part is the added ‘hmmph’ it gives to the partakers.  For men looking to show that they are indeed men and can grow a ‘tache, this is the perfect opportunity to do so.  For those men who unfortunately find growing a moustache to be a difficulty on par with rocket science, this is your chance to support those who are.  For all others, it is a chance to give to a cause that is too close to home for many of us.

A brief look into  prostrate cancer shows that it is the most common cancer in men. It is slow-growing in most cases which means most men wouldnt know they had it because it may never cause any symptoms or problems.  For others, this is the opposite and treatment is needed immediately.

Growing a ‘tache for this cause seems a noble thing to do.  Whilst some would fail at it more miserably than others, it is a chance to raise some much-needed funds to support the cause.  You would also be joining the ranks of men such as Genghis Khan and Gandhi who sported a moustache as a mark of their masculinity.  Whatever your reason, wear your ‘tache with pride.

To take part, just register at Movember with a clean-shaven face, then grow, groom and raise pennies for charity for just 30 days throughout the month of November.  You can send in your pics so we can see how you are progressing.  To do so, register your interest by contacting us via the contact form and we would track your progress through the month.

Happy grooming!
